Hello!
This time, a patient who underwent breast implant revision surgery kindly gifted our staff a box of grapes to enjoy together.
During breast implant insertion surgery, the muscle is often incised. However, more often than you might expect, the muscle can retract and roll upward after surgery.
When this happens, moving the arms or
flexing the chest muscles
causes the implant to shift alongside them, distorting the shape of the breast.
This is known as an animation deformity.
Along with replacing her implants,
the patient also had this issue corrected.
Dissecting the adhered muscle, placing the implant underneath, and properly covering it is a more complex and demanding procedure than it sounds, but the surgery went very well.
